01 Overview

Dashboards go unused when they try to show everything. We begin with the five decisions your leadership takes each month and work backwards from them. Metabase is installed against your warehouse or a read replica, a governed model layer keeps filters consistent, and four dashboards are built only once their definitions are agreed in writing. Row-level permissions keep figures such as salaries away from teams that should not see them, and Monday email digests reach people who rarely log in.

Questions about this engagement

For most teams Metabase is enough: it is open source and cheap to host. If your organisation is committed to Microsoft tools, we deliver the same scope in Power BI.

No, only through a read replica. Heavy reporting queries against a primary database can take the application down, and we will not set it up that way.

Small datasets can run directly from a replica. For anything larger, the warehouse engagement should come first.

This is technology work delivered digitally — nothing is shipped. Work is delivered into systems you control within the duration stated above, and the delivery and refund policies set out what happens if a date is missed.
